Dorm Life at Saddlebrook Preparatory
Off the court and course and outside the classroom, Saddlebrook Academy students will enjoy a fulfilling dorm life on the grounds of the renowned Saddlebrook Resort. In well-maintained accommodations overseen by Resident Assistants, and complemented by trips into Tampa and farther afield, boarding students will live an enriching lifestyle while getting a top-notch academic education and athletic experience.
Students will find housing at our Tampa prep school in two-bedroom condominium units located onsite at the Saddlebrook Resort. Each unit contains a separate bath for each bedroom, a well-appointed living and dining area, a kitchen and a patio. Rooms are maintained by our professional resort maintenance staff. Students are responsible for making their beds, doing their own laundry and keeping their own space clean. Once a week, the Saddlebrook housekeeping staff replaces the linens, cleans the bathrooms and kitchen, and vacuums the unit. Students also have access to the fitness center and swimming pool at Lakeside Village during operating hours.
Dorm Curfews & Supervision
There is a nightly curfew of 8:30 p.m., and lights go out Monday through Thursday at 10:15 p.m.. On Friday and Saturday nights, lights out for 6th-10th graders is 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. for 11th and 12th graders. These rules are enforced by Resident Assistants (RAs) who also provide counseling, transportation and supervisory services for our students. The RAs are overseen by the Supervisor of Boarding, who in turn reports to the Head of School.
Emergency medical assistance is available to all students on a 24-hour basis by the resort’s highly trained security staff. These men and women are trained in CPR and emergency first aid. AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, Urgent Care Wesley Chapel and a number of specialists are all located within a few minutes’ drive of Saddlebrook Preparatory. Doctor visits can be scheduled through the school as needed.
Every meal at Saddlebrook Prep is prepared by Saddlebrook Resort’s award-winning culinary staff and overseen by the Executive Chef with a focus on a well-balanced, diversified diet. Students enjoy a delicious variety of foods, plus they feel free to give their input and requests to the food and beverage management. The student-athletes eat breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets in the dining hall, supervised by teachers and Resident Assistants (RAs).
