Saddlebrook Academy School Profile
Saddlebrook High School was founded in 1992 as a public school in partnership with the School Board of Pasco County. In 1997, the school transitioned to private and was renamed Saddlebrook Preparatory School. Situated in a highly secure and gated community of 480 acres with well-supervised residential facilities for student-athletes from elementary to high school, the school very quickly began to draw student-athletes from all over the world.
SPS offers student-athletes from all over the world an opportunity to participate in a unique college-preparatory educational program. Five academic courses are coupled with four hours of fitness and intensive golf or tennis training each weekday; additional fitness and sports training are available. Weekends often include playing in local, national and international tournaments. The school’s current enrollment ranges from 70 to 100 student-athletes in grades 4 through 12, including postgraduates. We have approximately 40 to 50 boarding student-athletes who represent more than 20 different countries, including the United States.
Saddlebrook Prep is a unique academic institution, created to provide athletes whose schedules are dominated by training and tournament play with a quality and rigorous college preparatory curriculum. That curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of the NCAA and the finest colleges and universities in the country. Students will also be prepared to sit for the SAT, ACT and TOEFL.
