Saddlebrook Tennis is looking for full-time and seasonal player development coaches. Candidates must have experience working with all levels of players including nationally ranked players . In addition the candidates must have an accomplished tennis background and strong interpersonal skills. USPTA/PTR certification preferred.

Howard Moore

Howard Moore

Tennis Program Director

Serves as the Program Director and is charge of the tennis operation. His notable enthusiasm and attention to detail has placed the Saddlebrook tennis programs in the top 4 camps in the country rated by Tennis Resorts Online. USPTA Elite professional, RPT Master Professional.

Born in England, as a young junior, Howard was coached by the late Australian Davis Cup coach, Harry Hopman. Moore joined Hopman's staff in 1978 and during that time Howard ran the Harry Hopman International Tennis Club in Bologna, Italy. Howard holds a BA in Hotel Management from Florida International University. He is also a P-1 with the United States Professional Tennis Association. Moore has been in the capacity of Program Director of Saddlebrook International Tennis since 1986.

Alvaro Betancur

Alvaro Betancur

Director of Coaching

Alvaro began his junior career in his home of Colombia. He was ranked as high as 60 in the world on the ATP Tour and competed in all of the Grand Slam events except the Australian Open. Betancur has notable wins against; Jose Higueras, Nick Saviano, Billy Martin, and Jaime Fillol. He represented Colombia 's Davis Cup Team for 9 years and served as captain for 2 years. He came to Saddlebrook in 1986 and is known to juniors and top touring pros alike as one of the best technical coaches in the business. His intensity and dedication to junior tennis is an integral part of the program and is instrumental to the development of Saddlebrook Academy players.

Sean McQuillan

Sean McQuillan

Coach

Oversees the Prep School's college placement program and has had notable results in placing graduates into top tier universities in the USA. Sean has also developed the Saddlebrook all-encompassing video learning experience, where students-athletes can clearly review every technical flaw in their game for improvement purposes. McQuillan also oversees the in-house USTA tournaments. He is certified as a PTR professional. Sean also attended the Ferris State Tennis Professional Management Program.

Stephanie Tomita

Stephanie Tomita

Coach

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Stephanie joined the Saddlebrook Prep team the summer of 2012. She is the Team Leader Traveling coach. She studied and played NA1A Division tennis at the University of Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, and has a degree in Exercise Science with concentration in Coaching. Stephanie played regionals, nationals and ITF tournaments in Brazil, reaching the top 5 in Sao Paulo in her junior career.

Matt Broom

Matt Broom

Coach

A native of Tampa, Florida, Matt played Division 1 tennis at Western Kentucky University. Recognizable accomplishments were winning the national open singles and doubles quarter finals of Kalamazoo (hard courts). Top rankings include #1 in Florida and Top 20 in the country.

Rene Moller

Rene Moller

Coach

The Touring Pro Director, Rene has coached tennis at Saddlebrook since 2004. Upon arriving at the school, his potential was quickly ascertained, as top touring professionals such as Hingis, Stosur, Kuznetsov, Smyczek, and Isner wanted to work and travel with him. Rene played at Auburn University and was an All-American. Rene is also USPTA certified.

 Rick Crockett

Rick Crockett

Coach

Rick is considered to be the iron man as his fitness level is an example to all of the student-athletes. He was one of the original coaches under the tutelage of the late Harry Hopman, the Davis Cup Coach Legend. Rick enables the day to day operations of the tennis program to run smoothly. Rick has been at Saddlebrook since 1986.

Zack Quigley

Zack Quigley

Coach

Zack was a very accomplished Florida junior player. He won the Gator bowl and the Florida Open Doubles in 2008. He was ranked Top 10 in Florida in the 16 and under division. Zack has a great all round game and is very instrumental in working with the younger tennis players in Saddlebrook Prep. Zack is USPTA Certified.
