Ms. Destin Beck

Ms. Destin Beck

High School English

Ms. Beck was born in Texas, raised in the Midwest, and recently relocated to Tampa. She is an alumna of Iowa State University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English and a Spanish minor. There she was involved in the honors program and dance, and she served as a teacher’s assistant for undergraduate English courses. Previously, Ms. Beck worked with students both internationally in Barcelona, Spain and within the charter school system in Houston, Texas. When not teaching, Ms. Beck thrives on travel, good books, and spending time with friends and family. Ms. Beck joined the SBP team during the 2015-2016 school year and is thrilled to be teaching literature and writing to high school students.

Mrs. Andrea Burgess

Mrs. Andrea Burgess

Media Center/Library

Mrs. Burgess was born in South Carolina and moved to North Carolina when she was young. After high school she moved back to South Carolina to attend College at Clemson University. GO TIGERS!!!  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with an emphasis in Computer Technology. After graduation she worked for engineering firms in South Carolina and Louisiana. Wanting to live in Florida and be back in the technology field, she obtained a job with a small software company in Tampa and then was hired at IBM as a Technical Support Specialist. She held several positions over her years there and eventually moved into software testing. Deciding  to make a career change, she completed the Educator Preparation Institute through Pasco-Hernando State College and obtained her initial certification in Middle School Math. She has subsequently obtained certifications for Business Education and Educational Media Specialist. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family.  She also volunteers with the youth ministry at her church.  She loves music, plays the piano just a little and enjoys singing!

Mrs. Natalie Edgeman

Mrs. Natalie Edgeman

High School Science

Mrs. Edgeman is a native Floridian, born in Tampa, Florida.  She graduated from the University of South Florida with a double major in Biology and Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences.  Mrs. Edgeman has taught many different science courses throughout her 15 years of teaching, mostly in Pasco County Schools, but her favorite courses are those with field experience such as Environmental and Marine Science.   She enjoys TaeKwonDo, singing, and many types of arts and crafts.  Mrs. Edgeman is joining SBP full-time for the 2016-2017 school year teaching Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Marine Biology, and has previously taught summer courses for Saddlebrook Prep.

Ms. Sabrina Herrera

Ms. Sabrina Herrera

English, Writing and Humanities

Ms. Herrera hails from Oklahoma, where she was Sooner born and Sooner bred.  After high school, she attended the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Language Arts Education.  While a student at OU, she was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Color Guard, Campus Activities Council, and Kappa Delta Pi.  Ms. Herrera taught six years in Oklahoma before relocating to Florida in 2013.  She taught one year of junior high English in Moore Public Schools and five years of high school English with Norman Public Schools.  She is currently working on completing her thesis for her master’s degree in Instructional Leadership.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping, Zumba classes, and cheering on her beloved Sooners!  Ms. Herrera is elated to join the Saddlebrook family for the 2015-2016 school year.  She looks forward to teaching freshmen and sophomores, because every day is an adventure in English class.

Mrs. Bette Horsington

Mrs. Bette Horsington

High School Mathematics

Mrs. Horsington was born and raised in Massachusetts and graduated with an honors bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bridgewater State College. She has taught at International schools in Kuwait, Germany and Peru for 21 years.  Moving to Florida in 2014 with her husband and two children to be closer to her parents, she worked at Carrollwood Day School for a year before taking a one year sabbatical to recharge her teaching batteries.  She is looking forward to working at Saddlebrook Prep with the many international students using her skills she learned living in different cultures. In her free time you can find Mrs. Horsington spending quality time with her family either at home or at Disney World.

Mr. Miliziano

Mr. Miliziano

High School Social Studies

John Miliziano, an accomplished educator, was born in York, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelors degree in Social Science education at York College of Pennsylvania and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. His thirty six years of educational experiences include teaching at Woodbridge Middle School in Virginia and High School  at the Hillsborough County School system in Tampa , Florida. John was nationally recognized for Excellence in Economic Education by the NASDAQ Education Foundation and at the state level receiving the Governors Award presented by the Florida Council for Economics Education. He was named as Outstanding Educator of the year in 2014 by Junior Achievement. Mr. Miliziano was also a charter member of the Global Schools Project at the Patel Center for Global Solutions at the University of South Florida. John is married to Dr. Kelly Miliziano.  Much of their leisure time involves playing golf and traveling with their children Joseph and Sophia.

Ms. Bridget Moroney

Ms. Bridget Moroney

ESOL

Ms. Moroney was born in New Jersey, but grew up in Florida and graduated high school in Naples.  She went on to the University of Florida where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English.  In 2011, Ms. Moroney began teaching ESOL in Miami at Kaplan International Colleges while she earned her TESOL certification from International TEFL Teacher Training.  She has taught a variety of English Language courses and programs including: TOEFL and IELTS exam preparation and Business English.  She has also taught English for Academic Purposes at ELS Tampa, which is located on the University of Tampa campus. Ms. Moroney is very excited to bring her enthusiasm for language to the student-athletes of SBP in helping them develop their proficiency and mastery of the English language. Seeing students gain the English skills that they need to ultimately go to a US university is the biggest reward of her job. In her free time, she enjoys participating in Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting, watching all sports, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog – “Jersey”.

Ms. Rebecca Musco

Ms. Rebecca Musco

Middle School Math, Science, English, Reading

Rebecca Musco grew up in Florida and attended school in Tampa.  She has lived in the Wesley Chapel area for twenty years.  Ms. Musco earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Florida in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education. She is entering her nineteenth year as a teacher; her fifth year at Saddlebrook Preparatory School.  She previously taught at Christ Our Redeemer in Temple Terrace, Florida for fourteen years.
 
In her spare time, Ms. Musco enjoys teaching group exercise classes, running, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Mr. Chris Rosenke

Mr. Chris Rosenke

World History, US History, American Government, Economics

Mr. Rosenke is entering his 11th year as a teacher and his fifth at Saddlebrook Prep. He has taught in a number of environments including sports academies, the public school system, and the juvenile justice system. As a native Floridian, born and raised in St. Petersburg, he attended Northside Christian High School and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Florida. In his free time he enjoys endurance sports, football, basketball, tennis, and watching his Florida Gators.

Valeria Wolters

Valeria Wolters

Spanish

Valeria Wolters teaches Spanish language classes and ESOL. She was born in Venezuela and later immigrated to the United States with her family. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of South Florida, where she is currently completing a Master of Arts degree in Spanish, as well. As a native speaker, she hopes to encourage her students to make the most effective use possible of the Spanish language.

Valeria enjoys international travel and exploring new cultures with her husband during the summer time.
