Mr. Christopher Wester

Head Master

Mr. Chris Wester comes to Saddlebrook from the Gainesville, FL. area, where he spent the last sevens years teaching at Keystone Heights High School- while completing coursework towards his PhD in curriculum. As a twelve-year veteran teacher in both public and private schools, Mr. Wester plans to continue the tradition of academic excellence set here at Saddlebrook Prep. He has earned both a B.A. and a M.Ed degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and helped to lead Clay County School's Curriculum Redesign in 2013. He has worked as a mentor teacher, and modeled his teaching and clasroom management methods for education students from the University of Florida. He has implemented various student outreach programs, connecting students to their communities, and helping to develop our 21st century leaders. Mr. Wester looks forward to furthering the mission of Saddlebrook Prep by assisting classroom teachers, and ensuring our shared academic vision for Saddlebrook is realized.

Mrs. Deanna Garrett

Mrs. Deanna Garrett

Director of Curriculum

Born and raised in Pasco County, Florida, Ms. Deanna Garrett comes to Saddlebrook with twenty two years of experience working in Public Education.  She earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University.  Ms. Garrett has worked as an Assistant Principal, Literacy Coach, Mentor Teacher, and as a Classroom Teacher, where she truly enjoyed working with students of all ages. She worked on committees at the District Level, one was to rewrite the guidelines for grading and assessments in the Elementary Reporting Guide and another was to develop presentations to further the knowledge base of future leaders within the school system called Engaging Leadership Learners.  Ms. Garrett will strive to continue the traditions of academic excellence established at Saddlebrook Prep.  She has two children, Austin and Zachary, and enjoys going to the beach, reading, and spending time with her family.

Mr. Matthew Geiger

Mr. Matthew Geiger

Guidance Counselor

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Geiger now resides in Paso County, FL with his wife Amie and three children Luke, Kylieann and Roman.  Mr. Geiger came to Saddlebrook from the Pittsburgh School District where he worked for 14 years as guidance counselor and ESL Coordinator.  He attended La Roche College in Pittsburgh and received his bachelor’s degree in Business Finance, Master Degree in Educational Psychology and Guidance certification from Slippery Rock University and his principal certification from California University.  He enjoys all outdoor activities especially snorkeling; paddle boarding, deep sea fishing, white water rafting, camping and spelunking.  He is excited to be a part of the Saddlebrook Preparatory School, working with all the amazing students that come from all parts of the world to study and train to be the best that they can be.

Ms. Donna Claggett

Ms. Donna Claggett

Administrative Manager

Born and raised in Florida, Donna Claggett joined Saddlebrook Resort in February of 1982. During this time she has held the positions of Front Desk Supervisor, Rental Manager at the Lakeside Village and Office Manager at Hopman Tennis. Since 1997 she has been the Administrative Manager at Saddlebrook Preparatory School. Donna brings together considerable experience with Resort, Hopman and Prep School operations and expertise in organizational matters.

Mr. Joseph Snavely

Mr. Joseph Snavely

Administrative Assistant- Medical

Mr. Snavely grew up in Mansfield in Northern Ohio, graduated from Lexington High School and then from Ohio State with a degree in Political Science.  Joe worked in the Insurance and Marketing industry for a number of years.  Mr. Snavely moved to Clearwater in 1997, where he took a marketing position (became tired of Ohio winters) and then moved to North Tampa 10 years later.  Mr. Snavely currently resides in a Brooksville community surrounded by a golf course.  Joe is married and has both a son, and daughter, who live in Cincinnati, Ohio with their three beautiful children.
 
Mr. Snavely is excited about being a part of the Saddlebrook Prep experience, and assisting in the success of all of our Spartan student-athletes.

Ms. Nona Wagh

Ms. Nona Wagh

Survey Director – Admissions

Nona Wagh came to the United States in 2001 on a full tennis scholarship to Pfeiffer University in North Carolina. Nona received her first internship program at Saddlebrook in the summer of 2003. Upon graduation in 2004 with a degree in Sports Management, she returned to Saddlebrook and joined the Tennis Academy Professional staff and also served as a Resident Assistant for the full time Saddlebrook Preparatory boarding program. Nona was then promoted to the Tennis Activities Director position from 2005 where she successfully programed the full adult and junior activities year round. Nona currently serves as the Director of Marketing and Admissions.

Mr. Michael Stevens

Mr. Michael Stevens

Student Services Coordinator-Boarding Director

Major (Retired) Michael Stevens was born in Atlanta, Georgia and joined the Army immediately following his high school graduation.  While serving, Michael attended the Ranger Course and was later selected for the Army’s Officer Candidate School. He went on to graduate from the University of Hawaii-West Oahu with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. Michael Retired with 21 years of service and began Graduate School with a focus on education at the University of South Florida in 2016.  Michael and his family have lived around the world and enjoy everything from kayaking Florida’s rivers to attending the many of the cultural festivals held in the Tampa Bay area. Michael has coached soccer and officiated wrestling while supporting his daughters through careers in volleyball and competitive cheerleading.  Mr. Stevens brings a refreshing and disciplined approach to our boarding program while caring for our students in the same manner as he did for soldiers in past decades.
