Born and raised in Pasco County, Florida, Mrs. Deanna Garrett has over twenty two years of experience working in public education for The Pasco County School Board. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. Mrs. Garrett has worked as a Classroom Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Literacy Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal Intern, and Director of Curriculum & Student Services. She worked on various committees at both at the School and District Level. Examples include one committee responsible for rewriting the guidelines for grading and assessments in the Elementary Reporting Guide. Another committee she assisted with helped develop presentations to further the knowledge base of future leaders within the school system called Engaging Leadership Learners. Mrs. Garrett has been at Saddlebrook Prep since 2016, first as Director of Curriculum and the last three years as Head of School. Mrs. Garrett’s primary goal as a school leader is to challenge the student-athletes of Saddlebrook Prep with achieving academic excellence and reaching for the next level of academic achievement in college. She has two sons, Austin and Zachary. She enjoys going to the beach, reading, and spending time with her husband and boys.
