Born and raised in Pasco County, Florida, Mrs. Deanna Garrett has over twenty two years of experience working in public education for The Pasco County School Board. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. Mrs. Garrett has worked as a Classroom Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Literacy Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal Intern and Director of Curriculum & Student Services. She worked on various committees at the School and District Level, one such committee was to rewrite the guidelines for grading and assessments in the Elementary Reporting Guide and another was to develop presentations to further the knowledge base of future leaders within the school system called Engaging Leadership Learners. Mrs. Garrett has been at SPS since 2016, first as Director of Curriculum and the last two years as Head of School. One goal, as Head of School, that Mrs. Garrett has…is to challenge the student-athletes of Saddlebrook Preparatory with achieving academic excellence and reaching for the next level of academic success/achievement in college. She has two children, Austin and Zachary, and enjoys going to the beach, reading, and spending time with her husband and boys.
